Here are some of the mods...
- 18g/td05h , ported exhaust inlet
- stock (freshened) motor with arp head studs , stock head , stock cam
- 2 1/4 inch intercooler piping kit (kdm)
- 3.0 inch KDM exhaust with cat
- crane HI6 ignition
- greddy e-manage with one additional injector
- 1to1 fuel pressure regulator
- fuel pump (need to install)
- stock MAS (tried gen1 eclipse mas , did not like it)
- 25 psi On 91 octane PUMP GAS
I'll let Chris explain the rest...
Thanks to Kelly yesterday , we got that thing back together and on the dyno in about four hours . The car has the mods listed above with the addition of :
- mild port job on cylinder head
- o-ringed the head with fel-pro gasket
- modified valve guides and used special valve keeper / spring set up to run high lift camshaft
- test cam , not sure if I like it , but the car does rev out a lot further than before
- changed the fuel pump , totally out of fuel with the stock pump
- got rid of the mass air flow meter , converted it to speed density
I think there's more left in this thing . We were running 91 octane fuel with no knock . The motor liked ignition timing , but I did not want to advance it too much . The dyno run was at around twelve degrees initial .
When I had the head off , I put a port on the exhaust manifold to test turbine back pressure . Next time I have time to play with it , I would like to do some tests to see how much pressure drop there is in the stock intercooler and throttle body , and to check the turbine pressure .
It's a rough tune at this point , but overall , this car drives a lot better than it did with the mas air flow meter . The car just spin's the tires in first and second gear
- stock bottom end with balance shafts , stock compression
- dyno'd with custom cam . the cam was made from a new casting and there is about .510 lift and 270 running duration
- stock ecu , with the e-manage used to drive the additional injector , convert it over to speed density (no mas sensor) , and overall make the stock ecu happy

This gives a bunch of us hope. Been debating on MPI (magna or hurricane) or trying to cope with the factory trottle body system. But with the results you have, it makes more sense than spend an extra 2 grand or more just to upgrade to a t3/t4 and mpi. New manifold for the turbo new turbo, and hurricane mpi ahhh 3 grand plus motor....If I only had someone in Atlanta, GA. area with as much knowledge as you guys and had a half way decent shop that don't bend you over the barrel so to speak. A few good shops in the area but many are nissan or honda oriented. Keep up the good work.. [smilie=burnout.gif]

what is - "greddy e-manage with one additional injector"
what do you mean by "with an extra injector"? I have never heard of this mod with the tbi.

Never heard of It????
Sounds like you're not in the loop - You need to quit dicking around with that SQC site - this is where the real power is made.

this pic is from (tep not to be associated with kdm in anyway) but only pic i could find of and extra injector setup.
with a setup like they are running you are adding extra injectors to the ovcp, and use a seperate management system to run the extra injectors

now maybe if we sent "secret squirel" out we could get some co-op photos of the "actually" 300 hp beast.
and there is something about those fire photos that look familar, only my fire was on the other side and not that extreme.[/QUOTE]

Hi! yeah, that's good for an 18g and tbi, but you said it was with greddy e-manage, so no mas, a good sized bumpstick and a 3rd injector. What did you have for the stock injectors? two secondaries or what?
What intercooler did you use also?

We had totally stock injectors running with the Ultimate.
The 3rd injector was a stock green secondary.
Two secondary injectors caused the car to run like crap.
We got alot more HP now and are ready to show it at the Next KDM Performance meet coming soon.
We hold the record for the highest HP TBI and will for some time with Chris Viper at hand.
